Gadhada II-61: Niyams, Faith in God, and Loyalty
Summary
- A person who possesses three attributes – niyam, nishchay [faith in God], and paksha [loyalty] – is a staunch satsangi.
- The greatest among all devotees is one who:
- Has surrendered everything of his to God and His devotees.
- Would give his life for Satsang.
- Would immediately become a sādhu if his Ishtadev commands him.
- The greatest among all renunciants is one who, despite encountering wealth and women in his travels to other regions, remains unaffected and continues to firmly adhere to all of his niyams.
- A reputable person considered to be great in society should be respected accordingly but should not be insulted.
