Vartal-1: Nirvikalp Samādhi
Summary
- Even if the prāns are not controlled, one is said to have attained nirvikalp samādhi if:
- One has taken a firm refuge in the manifest God.
- One has a firm conviction in the manifest form of God without any form of doubts whatsoever.
- Even if the prāns are controlled, it is still considered savikalp samādhi if:
- One continues to harbour doubts in the manifest form of God.
- One does not feel fulfilled by attaining the incarnate form of God.
- One desires to see God residing in His abode.
- In one’s fight with the mind:
- If he wins, then he attains nirvikalp samādhi and becomes an ekāntik bhakta of God.
- If he loses, he falls from his spiritual endeavours. Then, maybe after one life or two lives or even after many lives, ultimately, he will become an ekāntik bhakta.
- One who aspires for liberation should develop enmity towards his mind.
