Gadhada I-27: The Understanding by which God Eternally Resides within One

Summary

1. God fully resides in the heart of a person who possesses the following understanding:

1. He understands: the cause of all wonders in the past, present and future is the incarnate form of God that I have attained.
2. He has equanimity in honour and insults; beautiful woman or an unattractive woman; gold or stone.
3. Possesses countless noble virtues, such as gnān, bhakti, vairāgya.
4. He attains countless types of powers and liberates countless beings by the grace of God.
5. Despite becoming powerful, he tolerates insults.
6. That Sant is capable of empowering the indriyas of all jivas in the brahmānd, and therefore, is the sustainer of the world.

2. One who believes, “This woman is very beautiful; these clothes are extremely fashionable; this house is very nice, etc…” are petty-minded and do not develop the virtues of a sādhu.
