Gadhada I-68: God Forever Resides in the Eight Types of Murtis and in the Sant

Summary

1. God forever resides in the 8 types of murtis and in the Sant.
2. One who does not respect the murtis of God or the Sant:

1. Does not have faith in God.
2. He will not be liberated.
3. His devotion is like that of a hypocrite.

3. If one develops a nāstik attitude toward God’s murtis and the Sant:

1. One develops a nāstik attitude toward the manifest form of God and his abodes.
2. He believes that the creation, sustenance and dissolution of this cosmos is due to kāl, māyā and karma, but not due to the will of God.

4. The cause of developing a nāstik attitude:

1. Listening to the scriptures of nāstiks.
2. Keeping the company of nāstiks.
3. Not believing in the talks of a Sant when one is overcome by swabhāvs such as lust, anger, etc.

5. Means to overcoming a nāstik attitude:

1. Listening to talks of the divine actions and incidents of God
2. Understanding the greatness of God and the Sant.
