Sarangpur-10: A Physical Perspective versus the Ātmā’s Perspective; Being Beaten by Shoes
Summary
- Two types of people:
- One who follows the path of righteousness:
- Forsakes misdeeds and remains within the disciples of dharma fearing God.
- Everyone trusts him.
- Likes the company of a true sādhu.
- One who follows the path of unrighteousness:
- Engage in evil deeds.
- No one trusts him.
- Does not like the company of a true sādhu and spites those who do.
- One who aspires to attain liberation should follow the path of righteousness and keep the company of a true sādhu.
- The understanding of one with a physical perspective:
- The adobe of God is very far away.
- Is not very beneficial.
- The understanding of one with a perspective of the ātmā:
- God’s abode in not even an atom’s distance away.
- My chaitanya is distinct from the three bodies and God forever resides there.
- The greatness of a Sant with this type of understanding [as described in 4a-4b]:
- God and God’s abode it not even an atom’s distance away from him.
- Darshan of him is the same as the darshan of God.
- He is fulfilled.
- If that Sant were to daily beat a person five times with a pair of shoes and he tolerates it, and in no way can he abandon his association with the Sant, then whatever that Sant attains he also attains.
