Gadhada II-8: Ekādashi; ‘Gnān-Yagna’; ‘Antardrashti’

Nirupan

April 3, 1959, Advāl. On the day of Ekādashi, the devotees from Advāl were seated in the afternoon discourse. The Vachanāmrut Gadhadā II-8 was being discussed. Swāmishri said, “Just as one offers barley seeds and sesame seeds as sacrifice in a yagna, one should sacrifice the inclination of one’s indriyas. Which yagna? How should one perform it? Can one perform it for free or does one have to spend money? What does sacrificing mean? It means that one has completely immersed oneself in the form of God. The gopis used to say, ‘I am Krishna, I lifted the Govardhan mountain.’ Thus, one attains such oneness with God and becomes immersed in the form of God. Sacrificing the inclination of our indriyas in the form of Gunātit is yog-yagna (association through sacrifice). What does sacrificing mean? It means the inclination of the indriyas become the form of Gunātit. We gain the fruit of the yagna when all our indriyas become the form of the Sant... Gnān-yagna is when one acts introspectively. Discourses of God is gnān-yagna. What is the fruit of education? We get a job. The fruit of yagna is the realization of God.”
