Kariyani-1: A Worm and a Bee

Nirupan

Janmāsthami, 1963. Yogiji Mahārāj had Vachanāmrut Kāriyāni 1 read and said, “Keep one’s conduct pure. Observe dharm and niyams.

“Once, a mouse and a cat were riding in a ship. The cat wanted to kill the mouse and was looking for an excuse. The cat could not find any excuse, so she said to the mouse, ‘Quit throwing dirt in the air!’ The ship was in the ocean. Was there any dirt there? The mouse understood that the cat is looking for an excuse to kill him and said, ‘If you are so inclined to kill me, just kill me.’

“Shriji Mahārāj told this story and said, ‘No one transgress their niyams. Whoever wants to do so, do not stay in Satsang. Do not let the blankets that are as clean as sunlight get marred with dirty spots. (i.e. Do not let impure conduct ruin the purity of Satsang.) If one wants to leave, then leave; but do not make excuses for leaving.”

[Brahmaswarup Yogiji Mahārāj: 3/519]
