Gadhada II-7: A Poor Man

Mahima

During the month of Kārtik, Samvat 1945 (November 1888 CE), a total of twelve sadhus and pārshads, including Shāstriji Mahārāj, were forced to leave from Vartāl because they were propagating the mahimā of Prāgji Bhakta.

This group of sadhus went to associate with Bhagatji Mahārāj and stayed in the village of Bhādrod, near Mahuvā. One morning, after they had bathed and performed puja, Bhagatji said, “Today, everyone should read the respective Vachanāmruts which match their personal inclinations.”

Vignāndās Swāmi read Gadhadā II-54, Bechar Bhagat read Gadhadā I-54, Yagnapurushdāsji read Gadhadā II-7, Keshavprasād Purāni read Gadhadā I-36, Purushottam Swāmi read Sārangpur 7, Nārāyancharan Swāmi read Sārangpur 10, and Shankar Bhagat read Amdāvād 2.

Brahmaswarup Shri Prāgji Bhakta (En): 353]

Yogiji Mahārāj said, “By remaining in the company of a Motā-Purush, one’s affection for the body is eradicated and one attains the virtue of devotion with servitude (dāsatva-bhakti). To behave with servitude is one of the divine virtues of God. When one attains this virtue, one becomes complete. One should contemplate on the words of Vachanāmrut Gadhadā I-14. Vachanāmrut Gadhadā II-7 was Shāstriji Mahārāj’s favorite Vachanāmrut. One should read such Vachanāmruts, contemplate on them and develop a strong resolve to imbibe them. As a result, the Motā-Purush becomes pleased.”

[Yogi Vāni: 18/3]

Yogiji Mahārāj said, “Two Vachanāmruts are worth imbibing in one’s life: Vachanāmrut Gadhadā II-7 and Gadhadā III-11 - An Understanding Like that of Sitāji… One may not understand all the Vachanāmruts, but one should always refer to their favorite Vachanāmruts that they are inclined to and imbibe their words.”

[Yogi Vāni: 29/45]

28 December 1961, Mumbai. Addressing the sadhus during the morning discourse, Yogiji Mahārāj said, “If Vachanāmrut Gadhadā II-7 is perfected, then all Vachanāmruts are perfected.”

[Brahmaswarup Yogiji Mahārāj: 3/266]

Shāstriji Mahārāj’s favorite Vachanāmrut is Gadhadā II-7, Yogiji Mahārāj’s favorite is Vachanāmrut Gadhadā III-2 and Pramukh Swāmi Mahārāj’s favorite is Vachanāmrut Gadhadā III-7.

[Yogi Gita Marma: 188]
