ઇતિહાસ
(૧) ધીરજ ધર તું અરે અધીરા
રતનસિંહ પલધારી રાજ્યામાં રતનપુર ગામના દિવાન હતા. તેમનાં બહેન કુસુમકુંવરબાએ મોરબીના રાજા સાથે લગ્ન કર્યાં હતાં, પણ તેમને કોઈ સંતાન પ્રાપ્ત થયું નહિ. તેમના પતિએ બીજું લગ્ન કર્યું અને બીજી પત્ની દ્વારા પુત્રની પ્રાપ્તિ થઈ. રાજ્યમાં આનંદ છવાઈ ગયો, પણ કુસુમકુંવરબાને પુત્ર પ્રાપ્તિ પૂર્ણ ન થઈ માટે અંતરમાં શોક પ્રગટ થયો.
રતનસિંહ ઘોડા ખેલવવામાં કુશળ હતા. ઘોડા ઉપર સવારી કરીને એક હાથમાં ભાલો પકડી ઘણા દાવ પણ કરતા. એક વખત મોરબીનો રાજકુંવર રતનસિંહના ખેલ નિહાળી રહ્યો હતો. રાજકુંવર નજીકથી ખેલ નિહાળવા માટે ઘોડા તરફ આવ્યો ત્યારે ઘોડાએ કુદકો માર્યો અને રતનસિંહના હાથમાં ભાલો હતો તે રાજકુંવરના ગળા સોંસરો નીકળી ગયો.
રાજ્યામાં શોક પ્રસરી ગયો. રતનસિંહ તો ત્યાં જ સ્તબ્ધ થઈ ગયા. બીજો કાંઈ વિચાર સૂઝે તે પહેલાં જ બીકને માર્યા ત્યાંથી ઘોડો લઈને ભાગી ગયા, રખે તેમના માથે રાજકુંવરની હત્યાનો દોષ ન લાગે અને ફાંસીની સજા થાય. તેમણે દેવાનંદ સ્વામીના મહિમાની વાતો સાંભળી હતી. માટે તેમણે મુળી તરફ પ્રયાણ કર્યું અને દેવાનંદ સ્વામીને મળ્યા. દેવાનંદ સ્વામીને બધી હકીકત કહી. સ્વામીએ રતનસિંહને આશ્વાસન આપ્યું અને ધીરજ રાખવા કહ્યું. ઘરે પાછા જવા પણ કહ્યું. પણ રતનસિંહને ફાંસીની બીક હજું ટળી નહિ. દેવાનંદ સ્વામીએ રતનસિંહ સાથે જવા નિર્ણય કર્યો. રસ્તામાં રતનસિંહ અને સ્વામી જતા હતા ત્યારે મોરબી નજીક તેમણે એક ઘોડેસવારને ભાળ્યો. રતનસિંહ ઘોડેસવારને જોઈ ધ્રૂજી ગયા. સ્વામીએ કહ્યું, “ઘોડેસવાર તમને પકડવા નહીં પણ ખુશીના સમાચાર આપવા આવ્યો છે.”
ઘોડેસવારે રતનસિંહને લાલ અક્ષરથી લખાયેલો પત્ર આપ્યો. તેમાં કુસુમકુંવરબાને પુત્ર પ્રાપ્ત થયો છે તેવા સમાચાર હતા અને રતનસિંહના માથે હત્યાનો આરોપણ હતો તે માફ થયો છે. વિશેષ, રતનપુર ગામ રતનસિંહને બક્ષિસ આપવામાં આવ્યું છે તેવા સમાચાર હતા.
આવા શુભ સમાચાર સાંભળી રતનસિંહને ખ્યાલ આવ્યો કે આ સર્વે વિગત કેવળ સ્વામીના આશીર્વાદથી બની છે. રતનસિંહે સત્સંગના વર્તમાન ધરાવી સત્સંગી બન્યા. મુળી મંદિર માટે પણ સો એકરની જમીન અર્પણ કરી.
આ જ પ્રસંગમાં દેવાનંદ સ્વામીએ રતનસિંહને આશ્વાસન આપવા આ કીર્તન રચ્યું હતું. તેમાં મુસ્કેલીઓમાં ધીરજ રાખવાનો આદેશ છે અને ભગવાનની કરુણાનું વર્ણન છે.
History
(1) Dhīraj dhar tu are adhīrā
Ratansinh was the royal courtier of Ratanpur village in Paldhari state in Rajkot. His sister Kusum Kunvarba was married to the King of Morbi, but she could not bear a child. Her husband remarried and the second queen gave birth to a prince. There was happiness and rejoicing in the kingdom. Kusum Kunvarba became depressed as every woman dreams of bearing a child to continue their lineage.
Ratansinh was a skilled horseman and enjoyed the various sports of riding horses. He often performed acrobatic skills on horseback with a spear in his hand. Once, the prince of Morbi got interested in the game and went towards the horse. The horse suddenly jumped and the spear in Ratansinh’s hand pierced the neck of the prince by accident and the prince died.
The kingdom was suddenly surrounded by sadness and grief. Ratansinh was petrified and fled because he was accused of the prince’s murder. His mind was in turmoil with the unfortunate event. However, he heard about Devanand Swami’s greatness and he went to Muli. He explained his trouble to Swami. Swami comforted him by explaining to him about forbearance and patience and requested him to go back home.
Ratansinh was still uneasy because if he went home and was caught, he would be sentenced to a hanging. Hearing this, Swami decided to go with him to Ratanpur. On the outskirts of the village, Ratansinh saw a horseman approaching, causing his fear to peak. Swami comforted him and said that, “He has not come to catch you, but has come to give you good news.” The horseman came near and handed Ratansinh a message written with red letters (signifying good news), that Kusum Kunvarba had given birth to a prince, and Ratansinh’s crime had been forgiven, and that the village of Ratanpur has been given to him as a gift.
Ratansinh understood that, instead of being hanged, being given the village as a gift was all the fruit of blessing of Swami. Ratansinh took the vows of satsang from Swami and became a devotee of Shreeji Maharaj. Ratansinh donated 100 acres towards construction of Muli temple.
On this occasion Devanand Swami composed a kirtan, consoling and comforting him and explaining to him about having utmost faith in God. The message of the kirtan is to maintain forbearance and patience whatever challenges you face in life.
