(૧) જય સ્વામિનારાયણ... જય અક્ષરપુરુષોત્તમ (શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ આરતી)
પરબ્રહ્મ ભગવાન શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણે આ વસુંધરા પર અવતરીને પોતાના મૌલિક વૈદિક આધ્યાત્મિક સિદ્ધાંત દ્વારા અસંખ્ય મુમુક્ષુઓ માટે શાશ્વત મોક્ષનો માર્ગ ચીંધ્યો. તેમના દ્વારા પ્રબોધિત એ ‘અક્ષરપુરુષોત્તમ દર્શન’ના વૈદિક સિદ્ધાંતને જગતભરમાં ઉજાગર કરવા માટે બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજે ગગનચુંબી મંદિરો રચીને તેમાં મધ્ય મંદિરમાં શ્રી અક્ષરપુરુષોત્તમ મહારાજ એટલે કે પરબ્રહ્મ ભગવાન શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણની અક્ષરબ્રહ્મ ગુણાતીતાનંદ સ્વામી સાથે મૂર્તિ પધરાવી. અનેક કષ્ટો વેઠીને તેમણે પ્રગટાવેલી એ ઉપાસના-જ્યોતિનાં અજવાળાં બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ યોગીજી મહારાજ અને બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજે જગતભરમાં પ્રસરાવ્યાં. તેમના આધ્યાત્મિક અનુગામી પ્રગટ બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ મહંત સ્વામી મહારાજ એ જ પરંપરાનું વહન કરી રહ્યા છે.
ભગવાન સ્વામિનારાયણે પ્રબોધેલા અને બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજે પ્રવર્તાવેલા એ દિવ્ય અક્ષરપુરુષોત્તમ મહારાજના ઉપાસના-સિદ્ધાંત અનુસાર નિત્ય ભક્તિ કરવા માટે પરમ પૂજ્ય મહંત સ્વામી મહારાજે મહિમાપૂર્વક નૂતન સ્વામિનારાયણ આરતી, નૂતન શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ મહાપૂજા અને શ્રી સહજાનંદ નામાવલિની રચના કરાવી. સનાતન ધર્મના વિધિવિધાનોની શાસ્ત્રીય પરંપરાને અનુસરીને આ સ્વામિનારાયણ મહાપૂજાની રચના કરવામાં આવી. પરબ્રહ્મ ભગવાન શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણના દિવ્ય સર્વોપરી સ્વરૂપની નિષ્ઠા, તેમનો મહિમા, તેમનું કાર્ય અને તેમની દિવ્ય વિલક્ષણતાઓને આવરી લેતી આ શ્રી સહજાનંદ નામાવલિ સ્વામિનારાયણ સંપ્રદાયની ભક્તિ પરંપરાને અનુસરીને રચવામાં આવી.
તેઓના આદેશથી બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજના ૯૮મા જન્મજયંતી મહોત્સવની (તા. ૧૫-૧૨-૨૦૧૮) ઉજવણી બાદ બી.એ.પી.એસ. સ્વામિનારાયણ સંસ્થાનાં તમામ આબાલવૃદ્ધ સ્ત્રી-પુરુષ હરિભક્તોએ આ નૂતન સ્વામિનારાયણ આરતીનું નિત્ય સવાર-સાંજ ગાન શરું કર્યું, બી.એ.પી.એસ.ના તમામ મંદિરો અને ઘરમંદિરોમાં હંમેશાં આ આરતી ગવાતી થઈ, તમામ સત્સંગ સભાઓમાં કે સમૈયા-ઉત્સવોમાં પણ આ આરતીનું ગાન શરું થયું. આ જ પવિત્ર દિનથી સંસ્થાના તમામ મંદિરોમાં અને માંગલિક વિધિઓમાં નૂતન શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ મહાપૂજાનું અનુસરણ થયું, નિત્ય જાપ માટે તથા ધાર્મિક અનુષ્ઠાનોમાં નૂતન શ્રી સહજાનંદ નામાવલિનો પાઠ શરું થયો.

History
(1) Jay Swāminārāyaṇa... jay Akṣharpuruṣhottam (Shrī Swāminārāyaṇ Ārtī)
By the wish of Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj, from 15 December 2018, the 98th Birthday Celebration of Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj, all young and old, men and women devotees of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha began singing the Shri Swaminarayan Arti. This arti is now sung in all BAPS mandirs and ghar mandirs, and in all satsang assemblies, festivals and celebrations. Also, from that auspicious day, the Shri Swaminarayan Mahapuja was performed in all BAPS mandirs and in all auspicious ceremonies. For chanting, daily and in spiritual observances, the Shri Sahajanand Namavali was also recited.
This arti, inspired by Pragat Brahmaswarup Mahant Swami Maharaj, pays reverence to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, that is Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj. This is the arti of Swami with Narayan. In other words, it is the arti of Akshar with Purushottam.
The heart of a true devotee constantly echoes with the glory of Paramatma. The devotee’s heart brims with joy and with the supreme truth that Paramatma is always and everywhere glorious. The first words of the arti – ‘Jay Swāminārāyan, Jay Akshar-Purushottam’ resonate this sentiment that Bhagwan Swaminarayan, or Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj, is ever glorious. Shriji Maharaj had himself given his followers the Swaminarayan Mahamantra, which incorporated his heartfelt principle, to chant. He had himself clarified that, in this mantra, ‘Swami’ refers to Aksharbrahman and ‘Narayan’ refers to Purushottam-Parabrahman. In this way, ‘Swaminarayan’ indicates Swami alongside Narayan, and ‘Akshar-Purushottam’ refers to Akshar alongside Purushottam. This is the meaning of the words ‘Swaminarayan’ and ‘Akshar-Purushottam’. Thus, the words ‘Swaminarayan’ and ‘Akshar-Purushottam’ are synonyms. Therefore, the glory of Swaminarayan signifies the glory of Akshar-Purushottam, and the glory of Akshar-Purushottam represents the glory of Swaminarayan. This highest truth resonates in these words of the arti. These words further reflect the devotee’s feelings that Bhagwan Swaminarayan, or Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj, is glorious in every way.
What can be greater than to see Parabrahman Purushottam manifest with his ideal devotee, Aksharbrahman? To have the darshan, together, of Swami and Narayan, or Akshar and Purushottam, is the greatest benefit of having eyes. Only those who are truly blessed have the opportunity to have this darshan. And, those who attain this darshan are blessed with further good fortune. Each mandir of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha grants people such darshan. This divine and heavenly darshan of AksharPurushottam Maharaj, or Bhagwan Swaminarayan, has thus been referred to in this arti as ‘sarvottam darshan’, or the greatest darshan. ‘Darshan’, however, refers not only to the act of seeing. It is also used to refer to doctrinal principles.
The core of Shriji Maharaj’s philosophical teachings was to become like Swami and offer humble upasana and bhakti to Narayan, that is, to become like Akshar and offer humble upasana and bhakti to Purushottam. These words of the arti, therefore, also reflect that the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan revealed by Parabrahman Swaminarayan is the greatest and highest philosophical principle. The arti’s first couplet thus signifies the above-mentioned sentiments.
