નિરૂપણ
(૧) સખી મેલી દે મનના મરોડને
ભગવાનને ગમ્યું એ સુઘડપણું
પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજના અંતરમાં ઊછળતી શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજની સ્મૃતિઓ તા. ૨૧/૯/૧૯૮૬ના રોજ તો આષાઢી મેઘની જેમ રેલાઈ રહી. આજે શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજનું સ્મૃતિપર્વ હોવાથી તેઓ બરાબર વરસ્યા અને સૌનાં અંતરપાત્ર તથા ભોજનપાત્ર છલકાવી દીધાં.
તેઓની આ કરુણાવર્ષામાં ગામના છેવાડે રહેતા હરિજન બંધુઓ પણ બાકાત ન રહ્યા. ભલે તેઓ મંદિરે નહોતા આવ્યા છતાં સ્વામીશ્રીએ વ્યવસ્થાપકોને સૂચના આપી કે, “દૂધપાકનો પ્રસાદ હરિજનવાસમાં પણ બધાને વહેંચજો. દેવીપૂજકોને પણ જમાડજો.”
લાભની લહાણ કરવામાં તેઓને રાવ-રંક એકસમાન રહેતા.
તે રીતે જ આજની સાંજે સ્મૃતિમંદિરની પ્રદક્ષિણા કરીને સ્વામીશ્રીએ ‘સખી મેલી દે મનના મરોડને...’ કીર્તન પર અમૃતઝડી વરસાવતાં કહ્યું:
“મરોડ શું? વાંકાચૂંકા ચાલીએ એ. કહે ત્યારે વળ લે કે, ‘નહીં એટલે નહીં.’ મોઢું મરડીને ઠૂંગા જેવું કરી બેસે. પણ કોને માટે આઘોપાછો થાય છે? આપણા વગર પડી રહેવાનું છે? આપણે આધારે ચાલે છે? માટે જે આજ્ઞા કરે એમાં મંડી પડવું. આજીવન સેવા કરવી, એક દા’ડો નહીં. રિટાયર્ડની વાત નહીં. જીવતા કે મૂઆ, ભક્તિ જ કરવી છે.
“આપણે શોભીએ છીએ એ આપણી બુદ્ધિ, શક્તિ કે આવડતથી નહીં, રૂપથીયે નહીં; ભગવાન અને સંતને રાજી કરીએ એટલા શોભવાના છીએ. ભગવાનના દરબારમાં આવ્યા એટલે શોભીએ છીએ. બાકી બહાર હોઈએ તો ભોજિયો પૂછે છે? ગૃહસ્થ પણ ભગવાન અને સંતને લઈને શોભે છે. બહાર તો આપણા જેવા કેટલાય રખડતા હશે!
“માટે ભગવાન બધી પ્રવીણતા આપે. પ્રવીણતા ન હોય તોય શોભી જાય. અહીં તો કથા કરે તોય આવડ્યું કહેવાય ને બગીચો કરે તોય આવડ્યું કહેવાય. માટે નાનપ ન માનવી. ભગવાનને ગમ્યું એ સુઘડપણું, માટે આનંદમાં રહેવું.”

(1) Sakhī melī de mannā maroḍne
September 21, 1986. Sarangpur. After doing pradakshinās in the Smruti Mandir, Pramukh Swami Maharaj discoursed on the kirtan ‘Sakhi meli de mannā marodne...’:
“What does marod mean? To not walk straight (i.e. not behaving properly). If one is told to do one thing, then one obstinately says no, no, no. They show an unpleasant face. But one should realize: will everything stop without us? Does everything happen because of us? (No.) Therefore, whenever we are given an āgnā, we should follow accordingly. We have to serve our entire life, not just one day. One should not think of retiring from serving. Whether dead or alive, we want to offer devotion.
“We look impressive not because of our intellect, strength, skills, or physical beauty. We impress upon others when we please God and the Sant. We look good because we have entered God’s court. Otherwise, if we go elsewhere, does anyone even call us?
“God endows us with all of our expertise. Even if we do not have any expertise, we still look good. Here (in Satsang), if we deliver kathā - that is called possessing a skill, and if we take care of the garden - that is also called possessing a skill. There is no superiority or inferiority. What God likes is known as skill. Therefore, remain joyful.”

(૨) સખી મેલી દે મનના મરોડને
‘માસ્ટર કી’નું દાન
બોચાસણ. તા. ૨૦/૨/૧૯૮૯ની રાત્રે ચંદ્રગ્રહણના સમૈયામાં પધારેલા પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજે ‘સખી મેલી દે મનના મરોડને...’ કીર્તનના આધારે અનરાધાર વરસતાં જણાવ્યું:
“આપણે જરા કંઈક સેવા કરી હોય, કંઈક મોટાં કાર્ય આપણાથી થયાં હોય એટલે મનમાં થોડુંક આવી જાય કે: ‘આપણા વગર આ કામ થાત નહીં.’ પણ આ મરોડ આપણે મૂકવાનો છે. આપણા વગર બધું થઈ શકે એવું છે. આ તો ભગવાન છે. એ ગમે તે દ્વારા કામ લે. આપણી સેવા જાય. માટે બધું કાર્ય કરીએ તોય ‘આપણે કંઈ સમજતા નથી’ એમ માનીને દરેકનો ગુણ લેવો. અભિમાન ન રાખવું. ક્યારેય રિસામણાં-મનામણાં થાય નહીં. આ દેહના ટુકડે-ટુકડા થઈ જવા જોઈએ. એમાં આપણે બીજું કાંઈ માનવાનું નથી કે: ‘આપણને પૂછ્યું કે ના પૂછ્યું.’ આપણે ભગવાનને રાજી કરવા આવ્યા છીએ. પછી મૂંઝવણ શેની રહે? ‘બીજા બધા સારા છે’ એમ સમજીને કરવાનું, એટલે કોઈ જોડે રીસ ન થાય.
“સાધુતા આપણી શોભા છે. સાધુતા એટલે ખમવું, સહન કરવું. એમાં જે મજા ને આનંદ છે એવો બીજા કશામાં નથી. એ પ્રમાણે વર્તીએ તો ‘માસ્ટર કી’ આપણા હાથમાં આવી જાય. અત્યારે જુઓ, મહંત સ્વામી માસ્ટર કી લઈને બેઠા છે કે નહીં!? સહનશીલતા, ધીરજ અને શાંતિથી કામ લેવું. કોઠારી બાપા, ત્યાગવલ્લભ સ્વામી, વિવેકસાગર સ્વામી બધા માસ્ટર કી લઈને બેઠા છે. યોગીબાપા મળ્યા અને તેમના થકી માસ્ટર કી આપણને મળી ગઈ. યોગીબાપા એ માસ્ટર કી છે. સાથે સાથે આપણે સીતાજીની સમજણ પણ દૃઢ કરવી જોઈએ. આ પણ એક માસ્ટર કી છે.
“‘જેને આપણે રાજી કરવા આવ્યા છીએ, એ મને કહે છે એ મારા માટે સવા સો ટકા કબૂલ. એ રાજી થતા હોય તો મને ગમે એટલું દુઃખ આવે તોય શું?’ – આ ધ્રુવપાંખડી સામી દૃષ્ટિ રાખીને કામ કરવાનું છે. કંઈ પણ પ્રશ્ન થાય કે તરત આ ચાવી લગાવી દેવી. બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીને માથે કેટલા પાટા પડ્યા! પણ જ્ઞાનકૂંચી હતી કે: ‘મહારાજને રીઝવવા છે,’ તો ભક્તિભાવ ઓછો ન થયો. સત્સંગ મૂકીને ચાલ્યા ન ગયા. એટલે આ બધી ચાવીઓ આપણને ઘણી આપી દીધી છે. વચનામૃતના પાને-પાને અને સ્વામીની વાતમાં વાતે-વાતે છે.
“આપણને હોદ્દા-અધિકાર મળ્યા હોય કે આપણામાં કંઈક આવડત હોય કે બે વાતો કરતાં આવડે – એ બધી એમની દયા ને કૃપા છે. આ તો માંગ્યાં ઘરેણાં છે. અહીંથી ઉતારીએ તો પછી કોઈ પૂછતું નથી. આ વિચાર આપણે હંમેશાં રાખવાનો છે. જે પ્રસંગ બને તેને તાત્કાલિક ભૂલવાનો છે. પણ એને આમળ્યા કરે, વીંટાળે, પછી મોટું ફીંડલું થાય ને મોટો ભાર થાય ને મંઈ દબાઈ જઈએ. વિચારમાં ને વિચારમાં ખલાસ થઈ જઈએ. પણ ‘કાંકરિયે ગયા જ નો’તા ને મેળો ભરાયો જ નો’તો...’ આપણા વગર એમને ચાલશે પણ આપણે એમના વગર નહીં ચાલે. માટે ભક્તિ રાખી ભગવાનને રાજી કરી લેવા.”

(2) Sakhī melī de mannā maroḍne
The Master Key
Bochasan. February 2, 1989. During the lunar eclipse samaiyo celebration at night, Pramukh Swami Maharaj delivered a discourse based on the kirtan ‘Sakhi meli de mannā marodne...’:
“If we have done some slight sevā, or if we do something great, then one may form a thought in their mind: ‘Without me, this would not have been possible.’ But we should give up such thoughts. Anything can happen without us, because God will do what needs to be done through any means and through anyone. However, we lose out on our sevā. Hence, even if we do a lot, we should look at others’ virtues and believe I myself do not understand anything. One should not bear arrogance (of the self). One should not feel hurt. We came here to please God, so why would one experience anguish? Believe everyone is good so one does not develop a grudge against anyone.
“Exhibiting the qualities of a sadhu is what makes us look good. Sadhutā means to tolerate. The bliss in that is not anywhere else. If we behave as such, then the ‘master key’ is in our hands. Just look, does Mahant Swami not have the master key in his hands or not? One should work with tolerance, forbearance, and peacefully. Kothari Swami, Tyagvallabh Swami, and Viveksagar Swami all have the master key. We met Yogiji Maharaj and acquired the master key through him. Also, we should have an understanding like Sitaji - that is another master key.
“‘The one who we have come to please is the one who is telling me - I agree with him 125%. If he is pleased, so what if I encounter any amount of misery?’ We have to point our compass in this direction and do our sevā. If any problems arise, we have to use this master key (to remain happy). How many problems did Brahmanand Swami face? But he had the key of gnān - to please Maharaj. Therefore, his devotion did not diminish, nor did he leave Satsang. [Our gurus] have given us many such master keys. They are on every page in the Vachanamrut and the Swamini Vato.
“Even if we acquire a position or some authority, or if we possess some skill, or if we know how to deliver great speeches - all of this is due to God’s grace. These (skills we possess) are borrowed jewelry. Once we take them off, then no one cares. (i.e. all the skills we possess are due to God’s grace. If God takes them back, no one will be impressed with us.) We should keep this in mind at all times. Whatever mishap occurs should be forgotten immediately. But if we keep thinking about it, then it becomes a bigger burden and we get crushed. We lose ourselves in thoughts. However, we should forget it as if it never happened. God and the Sant can do without us, but we cannot do without them. Therefore, we should keep devotion and please God.”
