કીર્તન મુક્તાવલી
પ્રસંગ
(૧) જે જે હરિએ કર્યું હેત એવું કરે કોણ આપણે રે
‘લોભ તજી હરિને ભજે’
... આ અરસામાં રમેશભાઈ દલાલ અમદાવાદથી ઈન્દોર તેમના પિતાશ્રી પાસે જઈ રહ્યા હતા. એ વખતે વડોદરાથી વહેલી સવારે ૫ વાગે ટ્રેન મળે. તેથી આગલે દિવસે સાંજે તેઓ અટલાદરા આવ્યા અને શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજને દંડવત્ કરીને બેઠા. શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજે પૂછપરછ કરીને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા.
એવામાં યોગી મહારાજ આવ્યા. રમેશભાઈએ તેમને બીજે દિવસે સવારે વહેલા ઈન્દોર જવાનું છે તે વાત કરી. ત્યારે યોગી મહારાજે પૂછ્યું, “રસ્તામાં ભાતું લીધું છે?”
રમેશભાઈએ કહ્યું, “સ્વામી! જરૂર નહીં પડે.”
યોગી મહારાજ આ સાંભળી મર્મમાં હસ્યા.
બીજે દિવસે વહેલી સવારે ૩ વાગે સ્નાનાદિકથી પરવારીને યોગી મહારાજે દૂધમાં પૂરી, બટાકાની સૂકીભાજી વગેરે તૈયાર કર્યું. હજુ તો રમેશભાઈ શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજનાં દર્શને ગયા ત્યાં યોગી મહારાજ ભાતું તૈયાર કરીને પાછળ આવ્યા. રમેશભાઈને ભાતાની ટોપલી આપતાં કહ્યું, “રમેશભાઈ! રસ્તામાં આ પ્રસાદી જમી લેજો.”
તેઓ આનાકાની કરતા રહ્યા અને યોગી મહારાજે પ્રેમથી તે ટોપલી રમેશભાઈને આપી દીધી. તેઓ જ્યારે જ્યારે શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજ પાસે જતા, ત્યારે યોગી મહારાજ તેમના ખબર-અંતર પૂછે, જમાડે, રમાડે, અને રમૂજ કરાવે. એમ અત્યંત વાત્સલ્ય વરસાવે. આજે પણ યોગી મહારાજનો માતા જેવો પ્રેમ નીરખી રમેશભાઈની આંખમાં ઝળઝળિયાં આવી ગયાં.
નિષ્કુળાનંદ સ્વામીએ કહ્યું છે:
‘વળી સમે સમે સંભાળ જાણો કરે હરિજનની રે,
એવું બીજું કોણ દયાળ, કાં રે મનાય નહીં મનને રે.’

... during this time, Rameshbhai Dalal was going to see his father in Indore from Amdavad. The train arrived at 5 am. The previous day, he came to Atladra to see Shastriji Maharaj. He prostrated before him and sat before him. They talked some and Swami gave him āshirvād.
Yogiji Maharaj arrvied. Rameshbhai mentioned that he has to go to Indore early in the morning. Yogiji Maharaj asked, “What have you taken to eat for the train ride?”
Rameshbhai said, “It will not be necessary to take anything.”
Yogiji Maharaj laughed purposely.
The next day, Yogiji Maharaj woke up at 3 am, got ready and prepared puris, dry bhāji, and other items ready. Before Rameshbhai could even reach Shastriji Maharaj for darshan, Yogiji Maharaj had food ready in a basket for his travel. Giving it to Rameshbhai, Yogiji Maharaj said, “Rameshbhai, eat this on the way.”
Ramesbhai politely tried to decline, but was defeated by Yogiji Maharaj’s love. Whenever he went to Shastriji Maharaj, Yogiji Maharaj would ask about his welfare. He would feed him and talk to him jovially. He showered the love of a mother on him. Today, seeing the same love, Rameshbhai’s eyes became watery.

Vaḷī same same sambhāḷ, jāṇo kare harijan ne re;
Bīju evu koṇ dayāḷ, kā re manāy nahi manne re...

સમે સમે સંભાળ લેતા
યોગીજી મહારાજ સંતો સાથે સવારની ૫-૦૦ વાગ્યાની ટ્રેનમાં મહુવા પધાર્યા.
સ્ટેશનથી ઘોડાગાડીમાં બેસીને ગામમાં ઉતારે જવાનું હતું. ઘોડાગાડીમાં ચાર જણાથી વધારે બેસાડાય નહીં એવો કાયદો. તેથી બે ઘોડાગાડી કરેલી, પણ સંતો નવ હતા. તેથી પાર્ષદ વિનુ ભગતને† ચાલતા જવું પડે એ સ્થિતિ હતી.
સ્વામીશ્રી વિનુ ભગતને કહે, “તમે બેસી જાવ.” પછી ઘોડાગાડીવાળાને કહે, “દંડ અમે ભરી દઈશું.”
મોટાસ્વામી આકળા થઈને કહે, “પોલીસ પકડશે તો દંડ કરશે ને આપણે હેરાન થઈશું.”
“પોલીસ કંઈ નહીં કરે. એને બેસી જવા દો. એકલો કેવી રીતે આવશે?” સ્વામીશ્રીએ કહ્યું.
રસ્તામાં પોલીસ મળ્યો ને ગાડી ઊભી રખાવી. વધારે બેઠા હતા તેથી દંડ કર્યો. બે રૂપિયા લઈને ખિસ્સામાં મૂકી દીધા. મોટાસ્વામી ખિજાયા, “હું કહેતો હતો પણ મારું માન્યું નહીં. દંડ ભોગવવો પડ્યો.”
સ્વામીશ્રી કહે, “તમારી વાત સાચી. બે રૂપિયા ભલે લઈ લે, પણ ભગતને એકલા ચાલવું પડે ને!”
તે વખતે વિનુ ભગત એકલીયા પાર્ષદ હતા. છતાંય સ્વામીશ્રીનો આટલો આદરભર્યો વર્તાવ અદ્ભુત હતો.
સ્વામીશ્રી બોલી રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે વિનુ ભગત મનોમન ભાવવિભોર બની ગયા. તેમને નિષ્કુળાનંદ સ્વામીની પંક્તિઓ યાદ આવી ગઈ:
‘વળી સમે સમે સંભાળ, જાણો કરે હરિજનની રે,
બીજું એવું કોણ દયાળ, કાં રે મનાય નહિ મનને રે.’
બાળકને માતા-પિતા ઉછેરે એવા લાડકોડથી, હેતથી, સ્વામીશ્રી નાના સંતો-પાર્ષદોને સત્સંગમાં નભાવતા, આગળ વધારતા ને વહાલ વરસાવતા. તેમને કોઈ પ્રકારનું ઓછું ન આવવા દેતા.

He Takes Care of Us Time to Time
Yogiji Maharaj arrived in Mahuva with other sadhus at 5 am by train. They were to go to their residence by horse carriage. The law required that only four can sit in the horse carriage. They had arranged for two horse carriages, but there were nine sadhus. Vinu Bhagat,† who was a pārshad at the time, would have to walk in order to abide by the rule. Yogiji Maharaj said to Vinu Bhagat, “Sit in our carriage.” Then, he told the driver, “We will pay the penalty if needed.”
Mota Swami was vexed. He said, “If the police catch us, we will be harassed.”
“The police will not do anything. Let him sit. How can he come on his own?” Swamishri said.
On the way, they accosted a police officer who stopped them. He penalized them 2 rupees for having an extra passenger. Mota Swami was provoked, “Did I not say so. You did not listen to me. We had to pay a fine.”
Swamishri said, “Yes, that is correct. So what if he took two rupees. The Bhagat would have had to walk alone!”
At that time, Vinu Bhagat was a solo pārshad. Swamishri had such affection for him, though, that Vinu Bhagat became enamored with Swamishri’s care. He remembered the verses by Nishkulanand Swami:
Vaḷī same same sambhāḷ, jāṇo kare harijan ne re;
Bīju evu koṇ dayāḷ, kā re manāy nahi manne re...

એવું બીજું કોણ દયાળ
તા. ૧૯૭૨/૨૦/રના રોજ કંડારીમાં ૫૬ પધરામણીઓ બાદ સ્વામીશ્રી શાહપુરને લાભ આપતાં સલાડ પહોંચ્યા.
અહીં રાત્રિસભા બાદ તેઓ ઉતારે પધાર્યા ત્યારે સાડા અગિયાર વાગેલા. તે સમયે પણ તેઓની કર્મઠતા હજી જાગતી હતી. તેથી પત્રવ્યવહારની સેવા સંભાળતાં પાર્ષદને કહ્યું, “લાવો, પત્ર વાંચી લઈએ.”
તે વખતે ઓરડામાં એક હરિભક્ત દૂર બેસીને દર્શન કરી રહેલા. પત્ર વાંચતાં વાંચતાં જ સ્વામીશ્રીએ અચાનક તે ભક્તને પૂછ્યું, “લીંબુ હશે?”
“જોઈ આવું.” એમ કહીને તે તપાસ કરી આવ્યા અને હાથ જોડીને કહ્યું, “બાપા! લીંબુ ઘેર તો નથી પણ વાડીએથી મળી રહેશે.”
“તો જાઓ, લઈ આવો.”
આ વાત સાંભળી પત્ર-પરિચારક પાર્ષદને આશ્ચર્ય થયું કે: “સ્વામીશ્રીએ આટલી મોડી રાતે લીંબુ કેમ મંગાવ્યાં હશે?!”
પણ તેટલામાં જ સ્વામીશ્રીએ પેલા હરિભક્તને કહ્યું, “લીંબુ લાવીને આ ભગતને આપજો. એમને ઉપવાસ છે તે કાલે પારણાં કરવા થાય ને!”
આ સાંભળતાં જ પાર્ષદ તો દિગ્મૂઢ બની ગયા! તેઓને અત્યારે ખ્યાલ આવ્યો કે સ્વામીશ્રી તેઓ માટે અડધી રાત્રે હરિભક્તને દોડાવી રહ્યા છે! તેથી તેઓએ કહ્યું, “બાપા! મારે તો ચાલશે. હું છાશ પી લઈશ.”
“ના, એમ ન ચાલે. પારણાંમાં લીંબુનું શરબત સારું પડે.” સ્વામીશ્રીના શબ્દે શબ્દે સ્નેહ અને સંભાળ નીતરી રહ્યાં.
હરિભક્ત તો આજ્ઞા થતાં મધરાતે વાડીએ પહોંચ્યા. લીંબુ લઈને પોણો કલાકે પાછા આવ્યા ત્યાં સુધી સ્વામીશ્રી પત્રલેખન કરતા રહ્યા. હરિભક્તે લીંબુ લાવીને પેલા ભગતના હાથમાં મૂક્યા ત્યારે પત્રલેખન સમેટતાં સ્વામીશ્રી બોલ્યા, “ચાલો, હવે આરામમાં જઈએ.”
આમ કહી તેઓ તો નિદ્રાધીન થયા પરંતુ આ દૃશ્ય જોનારા સૌની ઊંઘ ઊડી ગઈ. તેઓ ક્યાંય સુધી સ્વામીશ્રીના પ્રેમપ્રદેશમાં વિહરતા જ રહ્યા! તેમાં સતત પડઘા પડી રહેલા કે – ‘વળી સમે સમે સંભાળ, જાણો કરે હરિજનની રે, એવું બીજું કોણ દયાળ, કાં રે મનાય નહીં મનને રે...’

Who Else is More Compassionate?
On February 20, 1972, Pramukh Swami Maharaj blessed 56 homes of devotees, graced Shahpur, then arrived in Salād. Here, when he arrived at the residence for the night after the evening sabhā, it was 11pm. Instead of sleeping, Swamishri asked for his letters to be brought. At that time, one devotee was sitting at a distant in the room, engaged in darshan. While reading the letters, Swamishri unexpectedly asked, “Are there any lemons?”
“Let me check.” So saying, the devotee checked and came back to say, “Bapa, we have no lemons at home but they must be available at the orchard.”
“Good. Go get some.”
Hearing this dialog, the pārshad who was involved with keeping track of the letters thought: Why is Swamishri asking for lemons to be brought this late at night?
However, Swamishri said to the devotee before he left, “When you bring back the lemons, give them to this Bhagat. He will need them to break his fast tomorrow!”
Hearing this, the pārshad was surprised. He just realized that Swamishri was having a devotee run out in the middle of the night to bring lemons just for him. He said, “Bapa, I will be okay without lemons. I will drink buttermilk.”
“No. That will not do. When you break a fast, it is better to drink lemonade.” Swamishri’s words were soaked with affection.
The devotee left to fetch lemons in the middle of the night. He came back in 45 minutes when Swamishri was stilled reading letters. Only after the devotee handed the lemons to the Bhagat did Swamishri retire from reading letters and said, “Well now. Let’s go rest.”
So saying, Swamishri fell asleep. However, those who witnessed this incident were left sleepless. They were floating in the river of love in Swamishri’s heart. They heard echoes of the line: Vaḷī same same sambhāḷ, jāṇo kare harijan ne re...
