(1) Vaṇ sādhuno vartāro re ā pad suṇtā oḷkhāshe
Nishkulanand Swami describes what happens when one really understands the characteristics of a true Sadhu.
Vaṇ sādhuno vartāro re, ā pad suṇtā oḷkhāshe;
Pachhī shodhī samāgam sāro re, te sāthe prīti thāshe... 1
(1) One will recognize the behavior of a false sadhu listening to these verses. Then, one will be inspired to find a true Sadhu and will develop love for him.
Teh vinā man nahi māne re, bīje dalḍu nahi bese;
Kāyarnī vāto kāne re, sāmbhaḷī panḍyamā nahi pese... 2
(2) Then, one will not develop love for others (false sadhus) and their heart will not settle for them. One will not be affected by talks of cowards.
Ānkh antarnī ūghaḍshe re, paḍshe pārkhu potāne;
Kharā khoṭānī gam paḍshe re, jaḍshe vāto e jotāne... 3
(3) The internal eye will open, allowing them to distinguish a true and a false sant. One will be able to determine the true Sadhu among the false sadhus. Upon observation, one will come to understand this discourse.
Pachhī sant asant ek pāḍe re, nahi dekhe te koī dane;
Kahī Nishkuḷānand shu dekhāḍe re, jāṇshe jem chhe tem mane... 4
(4) Then, one will not consider a true Sant the same as a false sant. By saying this, Nishkulanand Swami shows the difference and one will understand as it is in their mind.
