(1) Vishayī jannā vāyak re bharyā bharpūr bhunḍāīye
Vishayī jannā vāyak re, bharyā bharpūr bhunḍāye;
Hoye sahune dukhdāyak re, ethī sukhiyā shu thāye... 1
(1) The words of one who is after sensual pleasures are full of impurity. They are the cause of misery to others. How can one become happy by listening to them?
Jone Āgnīdhra Dīrghatamā re, vishay sāru valakhyā chhe;
Enā vachan shodhī shāstramā re, sarve laīne lakhyā chhe... 2
(2) Look at Āgnidhra Rishi and Dirghatamā Rishi, both who made vain efforts for sensual pleasures. Their words were found in the scriptures and were written accordingly.
Vaḷī Vashishṭh ne Dūrvāsā re, lobhī krodhī kahāve chhe;
Enā antarnī je āsā re, sarve shāstra jaṇāve chhe... 3
(3) Moreover, Vashisht Rishi and Durvasa Rishi are known as greedy and angry. All the scriptures have made known the intentions of their heart.
Maṭe je janmā guṇ jevo re, evo āpe sevakne;
Kahe Nishkuḷānand na sevo re, jāṇī evo vivekne... 4
(4) Therefore, whichever virtues are in one, they pass it on to their sevaks. Nishkulanand Swami cautions not to serve (one with these faults) using the discretion of the genuine and the fake.
