Translation
(1) Jarūr jāvu chhe jāṇjo re Prabhujīnī pās
Jarūr jāvu chhe jāṇjo re, Prabhujīnī pās;
Evī deshīye ma āṇjo re, vaṇ karye tapās... 1
(1) Know that we certainly want to go near God. However, do not falsely believe you are worthy to go near God without examining yourself.
Jāṇo jag moṭāī jūṭh chhe re, tenī tajo tāṇ;
Ene īchchhe te haiyāfūṭ chhe re, na īchchhe sujāṇ... 2
(2) Know that worldly fame is false; so do not crave for it. Whoever craves for it are fools. The wise do not desire it.
Melo lābh ā lok sukhno re, prīt karo parlok;
E to mato chhe mūrakhno re, khoṭo harakh shok... 3
(3) Abandon the happiness of this world and wish for the happiness of God’s abode. Attaining happiness of this world is the belief of fools; happiness and misery of this world is false.
Rūḍā santnī rītḍī re, jāṇo judī jan;
Jene Prabhu sāth prītdī re, te vichāro man... 4
(4) The way of the great Sant is different (from the ways of common man). He has affection for God. One should think about this.
Mathe kalank ne marshu re, eto chhe akāj;
Te to Nishkuḷānand narsu re, joī rījhe nahi rāj... 5
(5) It is not proper to die with vices on your head (i.e. to your name). Nishkulanand Swami says God will not be pleased seeing that.
