Translation
(1) Shūr sangrāmne dekhatā nav ḍage
Shūr sangrāmne dekhatā nav ḍage, ḍage tene swapane sukh n hoye;†
Brave soldiers do not tremble seeing a battle. Those who do will never find happiness, even in their dreams.
Hay gaj garjanā hāk vāge ghaṇī, manmā dhaḍak nav dhare toye... 1
Even when hearing the sounds of horses and elephants in battle, their mind does not fear.
Aḍag sangrāmne same ūbhā rahe, arpavā shīsh ānand manmā;
They fearlessly remain standing in battle. They find happiness in sacrificing their head [for victory].
Chākarī sufaḷ karavā taṇe kāraṇe, vikasyu vadan umang tanmā... 2
To succeed in their service, their face is lit with hope.
Akath alaukik rājne rīzave, je nar man taṇī tāṇ mūke;
Those who forsake the wants of their mind please the indescribable divine King.
Vachan pramāṇe tenī peṭhe vartatā, ek pag bhar ūbhā j sūke... 3
They stand waiting (just as the king’s guards ever keep watch) according to God’s command.
Evānī āgaḷe mohdaḷ nav manḍe, bhāgatā bhom bhāre j lāge;
The army of infatuation will not try to battle these brave soldiers. Even as they retreat, the earth seems like an obstruction.
Muktānand te shūr sāchā vade, (je) chākarī karī nav moj māge... 4
Muktanand Swami says, the truly brave are those who do not ask for anything in return for their service.
