Translation

(1) Hariguṇ gātā durijaniyāno dhaḍak na manmā dhārīe

Sadguru Muktanand Swami

Hariguṇ gātā, durijaniyāno dhaḍak na manmā dhārīe;

 Shirne sāṭe, shvāsochchhvāse sundarvar sambhārīe...

When worshiping God, one should not let fear of others who oppose worship of God enter their mind.

We should remember God with every breath, even if we were to lose our head.

Je sāchu samaraṇ ādare,

teno mūrakh māṇas droh kare;

 Te ūlṭo nij shir bhār bhare... Hari 1

(1) Whoever genuinely worships God will be maligned by foolish people.

Those who malign others who worship God are unnecessarily bearing burden (of bad deeds) on their own head.

Je sūraj sāmī raj nākhe,

te ūlṭī āvī paḍe ānkhe;

 Ravī rosh rāg man nav rākhe... Hari 2

(2) If one throws dirt at the sun, it will only fall into their own eyes.

The sun, however, bears no malice toward those who throw dirt at it.^†

Em samjī man dradh rākhīe,

mukhe kāyartā nav bhākhīe;

 ā tan Prabhu par vārī nākhīe... Hari 3

(3) Understanding this, one should make their mind firm (to worship God) and never say any cowardly or discouraging words.

This body should be used for the purpose of pleasing God.

Je tan man dhan Hari charaṇe dhare,

tenī sundar Shyām sahāy kare;

 Kahe Muktānand tāre ne tare... Hari 4

(4) Whoever offers their body, mind, and wealth to God will be protected by God.

Muktanand Swami says, God will save him from drowning. Metaphorically, drowning refers to drowning in the ocean of māyā.

^†Bhagwan Swaminarayan has said similar words in Vachanamrut Gadhada I-24: In fact, whatever types of flaws a person attributes to God will ultimately cause misery to the person himself - just as a fistful of sand thrown at the sun falls back into the thrower’s eyes.
