Translation
(1) Premī janne vash pātaḷiyo
In this verse, Muktanand Swami is describing love for God, not ordinary love. And by premi, he speaks of one who has intense love for God.
Premī janne vash pātaḷiyo,
Shyām sundar sukhkārī re;
Jāti varaṇ ne rūpe na rījhe,
Prabhujīne bhakti pyārī re... premī 1
(1) God is under the control of those who love him. God is the source of happiness. God is not pleased by one’s caste, varna, or physical attractiveness. God is pleased by bhakti.
Prem na nīpje desh videshe,
prem na hāṭe vechāy re;
Premīnā pāsangmā je shīsh sope,
te jan premī thāy re... premī 2
(2) Love is not produced (grown) on any land. It is not sold at shops. One who offers their head (surrenders) to one who has love for God also develops the same love for God.
Premnī vāt sunī Parīkshit,
savḷī samjaṇ nav līdhī re;
Samjīne Shukmunie rasne chhapāḍyo,
mokshnī rīt kahī dīdhī re... premī 3
(3) Parikshit heard the talks of love (from Shukji) but did not understand it correctly. Therefore, Shukji withheld the talks of such love toward God and simply explained him the means to liberation.
Vraj vanītānā premnī āge,
uḍyā koṭi Kabīrā re;
Muktānand e premno mārag,
samje te sant sudhīrā re... premī 4
(4) Millions of Kabirs cannot compare to the love of the Gopis (of Vraj). Muktanand Swami says one who understands the path of love is a true Sant.
