Translation
(1) Sant vinā re sāchī koṇ kahe
This pad and the 3 other pads in this chosar are part of Nishkulanand Swami’s Sar-Siddhi and are most well-known. This is the 9th pad of 12 pads.
Sant vinā re sāchī koṇ kahe, sārā sukhnī vāt;
Dayā rahī chhe jenā dilmā, nathī ghaṭmā ghat... 1
(1) Who else other than the Sant would tell you the truth or talk of true happiness? He has immense compassion in his heart. His heart is free of vices. (Therefore, he has no selfish motives in telling us the truth as is.)
Jem jananīne haiye het chhe, sadā sutne sāth;
Arogī karvā arbhakne, pāye kaḍverā kvāth... 2
(2) Just as a mother, who has great love for her son, will feed her infant a bitter kvāth (a remedy that cleanses the gastrointestinal tract) to ensure it is free of disease.
Jem bhamri bhare bhāre chaṭko, palaṭvā īyaḷnu ang;
Tem sant vachan kaṭu kahe, āpvā āpṇo rang... 3
(3) Just as a bee stings a worm to transform it into its likeness; similarly, the Sant may speak harsh and bitter words to transform aspirants into his likeness (free of flaws).
Jāṇo sant sagā chhe sahunā, jīva jarur jāṇ;
Nishkuḷānand nīrbhay kare, āpe pad nīrvāṇ... 4
(4) Know that the Sant is related to everyone. (Speaking to the jiva with emphasis), certainly understand this. Nishkulanand Swami says he frees one from all fears and grants an elevated state.
