Translation

(1) Nāshvant ā deh vaḍethī avināshī faḷ

Narayandas

Nāshvant ā deh vaḍethī, avināshī faḷ levu jī;

With this perishable body, attain the immortal fruit (liberation).

 Patrāvaḷāne jamī karīne, bahār fekī devu jī... 1

Just as one eats the food on a [dish made of a] leaf and throws the leaf away...

Mangamtu mūkīne manvā, Hari gamtāmā rahevu jī;

Let go of what your mind wants and do what God likes.

 Deh dharyo te sukh-dukh āve, tene veṭhī levu jī... 2

Since you have been born in this body, happiness and misery will come, so tolerate it.

Harijan upar heṭ karīne, Bhūdharjīne bhajvā jī;

Develop affection for devotees of God and worship God.

 Bhaktimā je vighna kare te, verī jāṇī tajvā jī... 3

Renounce whatever hinders your devotion to God.

Bījā sarve kām bagādī, moksha panth sudhāro jī;

Ruin other tasks and improve your path of liberation.

 Dās Nārāyaṇ Hari bhajīne, safaḷ karo janmāro jī... 4

Narayandas says, “Succeed in this life by worshiping God.”
