Translation
(1) Sukhdāyak re sāchā santno sang
This kirtan by Muktanand Swami, not only extols the Sant - Anadi Aksharbrahman, but also extols his samāgam, the act of association with him and listening to his talks. He tells us the benefits and gives examples of those who benefited.
Sukhdāyak re, sāchā santno sang,
Sant samāgam kījīe...
(*) The association of a genuine Sant is the cause of happiness; therefore, we should do Sant samāgam.
Jīre sant samāgamthī ṭaḷe, āshā trushṇā re,
Īrshyā abhimān, moh matsar mamtā baḷe;
Pragaṭe urmā re, Prabhunu dradh gnān... sant 1
(1) Through Sant samāgam, one’s desires, jealousy, arrogance, infatuation, I-ness and my-ness are eradicated. Moreover, one will gain the knowledge of God in their heart instead.
Jī re sant samāgamthī thayā, muni Nārad re,
Harinu man āp, anek patit uddhāriyā;
Tenā jashno re, moṭo partāp... sant 2
(2) Muktanand Swami gives the example of Narad Muni (who was the son of a servant) who became known as the mind of God by association of sadhus. In turn, he uplifted many sinners. Such is the greatness of the Sant.
Jī re siddha thayā satsangthī, Shuk ādik re,
Munīvar sukh rūp, chitt chotyu Hari charaṇmā;
Jāṇyo santthī re, moṭo maram anūp... sant 3
(3) By doing satsang, Shuk and others attained the enlightened state, happiness, and their minds became fixed on the holy feet of God. They accomplished this by Sant samāgam.
Jī re mahimā moṭo chhe mahantno, jene seve re,
Chhuṭe māyānu jāḷ, prīt vadhe Parabrahmamā;
Muktānand kahe re, tajī āḷ pampāḷ... sant 4
(4) The greatness of the Sant is incredible. Whoever serves him will be freed from the traps of māyā and his affection for God will increase. Therefore, Muktanand Swami says to forsake your stubbornness and care for your body and do Sant samāgam.
