Translation
(1) Sadā karvo re harijanno sang
Sadā karvo re, harijanno sang;
Durlabh darshan santnā...
We should constantly seek the company of the Sant. The darshan of the Sant is very rare.
Jī re sant sabhā madhye Shrī Hari, sadā rahe chhe re,
Vā’lo Aksharnāth aḍsaṭh tīrath jenā charaṇmā;
Evā santthī re, vege thaīe sanāth... durlabh 1
(1) In the assembly where the Sant is present, God is always present as well. The 68 places of pilgrimage are at the feet of the Sant. By seeking his refuge, we will have gained a master (i.e. we will not be orphans on the spiritual path).
Jī re sant maḷyā tene Hari maḷyā, eno mahimā re,
Vaḍe Veda Pūrāṇ, sākhya pragaṭ sansārmā;
Shuk Nārad re, pāmyā pad nirvāṇ... durlabh 2
(2) Whoever has found the Sant has found God. His greatness is proclaimed by the Vedas and Purans. The whole world is a witness (to his glory). Shuk and Narad are two examples who attained the highest elevated state from a Sant.
Jī re sant vachan sāchā gaṇī, gayo vanmā re,
Dhruv nānakḍo bāḷ, pragaṭ Prabhune te pāmīyo;
Thayo avichaḷ re, jash vādhyo vishāḷ... durlabh 3
(3) Considering the words of the Sant to be the truth, child Dhruv went to the forest and attained God. He became permanently fixed (in his elevated state) and his greatness increased.
Jī re evu jāṇī ahamtā tajī, shuddh bhāve re,
Karavī santnī sev, manushyabhāv manthī tajo;
Muktānand kahe re, sāchā sant chhe Dev... durlabh 4
(4) Understanding this and renouncing I-ness and my-ness, one should serve the Sant with genuine feelings. And remove any feelings of human traits from the mind. The true Sant is the form of God himself.
