(1) Vruttālay se chalā Swāmī shuddh upāsnā vratdhārī
Vruttālay se chalā Swāmī, shuddh upāsanā vratdhārī...
Swami [Shastriji Maharaj] left Vartal solely to uphold pure upāsanā.
Hast me māḷā khambhe jhoḷī, eka ja pattardhārī,
Carrying a mālā in his hands, a jholi on his shoulders, and a single food bowl;
Tejasvī mukh mudrā shobhe, brahmacharya vratdhārī…
His face radiated with a divine glow, adhering strictly to the vow of celibacy.
Agaṇit kashṭo Swāmījīne, devā lāgyā jyāre,
When countless hardships were inflicted upon Swami [Shastriji Maharaj];
Bhaktajanonī araj swīkārī, chālī nīkaḷyā tyāre…
He accepted the request from the devotees and left…
Mahā-ekāntik Santne paḍtā, dukh joī vahāre dhāyā,
Upon seeing the suffering inflicted upon the Maha-Ekantik Sant, devotees left with him.
Swāmī-Shrījī akhanḍ birājyā, adbhūt kārya karāvyā…
Swami-Shriji remained with them; they inspired amazing achievements.
Mahādayālu Swāmīne sante, bahu bahu veṭhyu jāte,
The incredibly compassionate Swami [Shastriji Maharaj] and his sadhus personally tolerated immense hardships.
‘Rasik’ kahe Shrījī kem te saheshe, cheto mamtādhārī…
Rasikdas asks, “How will Shriji [Maharaj] tolerate this? Opponents, be warned!”
