Translation

(1) Sukhsāgar Harivar sange sukh māṇjo

Sadguru Muktanand Swami

Muktanand Swami wrote this chosar as a message to his sister. Hence, he uses the words mānni and benī. (See the history of this kirtan.) However, the messages in this series of four kirtans is for all aspirants who want to please God and attain liberation.

Sukhsāgar Harivar sange sukh māṇjo,

 Ati ghaṇī maher karī chhe Shrī Mahārāj jo;

Believe that the greatest joy is in the company of God, who is an ocean of bliss. Maharaj has shown great compassion.

Purūshottam sāthe pūraṇ sagpaṇ thayu,

 Āpaṇ tulya nahi koī bīju āj jo... sukhsāgar 1

(1) We have a complete relationship with Purushottam. There is no one else equal to us today.

Ravi-manḍaḷmā rāt taṇu dukh nav naḍe,

 Pāras pāmye dhan durbaḷtā jāy jo;

When close to the stars, no one will experience the misery of darkness. When one acquires a pārasmani (a stone that turns metal into gold), one will not remain poor.

Tem pragaṭ Purushottamne je je maḷe,

 Teno mahimā Bhavbrahmādik gāy jo... sukhsāgar 2

(2) Bhav (Shiva), Brahmā, etc., sing the greatness of whoever attains the manifest form of God.

Tan abhimān taje pūraṇ sukh pāmīe,

 Shāmaḷiyā sang vādhe sāchī prīt jo;

One who renounces attachment to the body and arrogance will attain complete happiness. By remaining with God, one’s true love for him will increase.

Muktānand kahe marm ghaṇo chhe vātmā,

 Jāṇī lejo ati uttam ras rīt jo... sukhsāgar 3
